Many New Jersey car occupants injure their shoulders in car accidents. In a car accident, the shoulders are subjected to a myriad of forces that can result in significant injuries. When a vehicle suddenly stops or collides with another object, the body continues to move forward due to inertia, often pushing the shoulders against the restraint systems, like seat belts, which can exert concentrated pressure.

Lochinvar LLC has issued a recall for approximately 17,000 of its condenser boilers after it was found they had a defect that could result in carbon monoxide leaking from the boiler. This poses a potential risk to anyone who owns these boilers, given the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning. Anyone with these boilers should contact the manufacturer for a free repair, and make sure to have carbon monoxide detectors active until the issue can be fixed.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) celebrated its annual July 4 campaign against drunk driving. This campaign was meant to remind people of the dangers of drunk driving, as well as to spread awareness of ways to avoid driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Holidays such as July 4 tend to see much higher rates of drunk driving compared to other times of the year, with the summer being one of the worst times of the year for DUIs.

April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month
HADDONFIELD, NEW JERSEY — Gerald Williams and David Cedar, partners in Williams Cedar LLP, are announcing that April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month and telling motorists that they should be aware of other drivers who are not paying attention to the road. A study recently released by the Barcelona Institute for Global Health, and published in Environmental Pollution, has found that prenatal exposure to phthalates can lead to reduced lung function in children. This study found that these chemicals, which are in many consumer goods (including some given to children), can severely impact a child’s development, leading to long-term health problems. While heavily restricted, the phthalate use remains legal in the United States for some purposes.
